The first season of YPC SALT kicks off in Group A with four two-man teams: Christian and Fabi (Savage Gear), Fredrik and Christoph (Nays), Tim and Tobi H. (Daiwa), and Josef and Tobi F. (Hearty Rise). Norway veterans meet newcomers and YPC champions face tournament rookies in the Norwegian Sea – who will find their feet first?

Group A heads into the second half of the day with a surprise leader: Team Nays, Fredrik Harbort and Christoph Barra, who bring comparatively little saltwater experience. Savage Gear, Daiwa and Hearty Rise are still out there chasing – and with a long day at sea ahead, who will be leading when it counts?

Group B kicks off: Westin, CWC, B1 Bootscenter and Okuma each send a two-person team, including William Eksell and Fredrik Persson, an all-Scandinavian duo with years of experience in the North Sea. Will the four teams fish differently from Group A?

In Group B of YPC Salt 2026, the four teams have already landed pollack, cod and saithe in the Norwegian Sea, but the halibut, the sea's king, has stayed out of reach so far. Will Westin, CWC, B1 Bootscenter and Okuma finally get a bite from it and make up ground?

After day one in Norway, Daiwa's Tim and Tobi lead Group A ahead of Savage Gear (Christian and Fabi) and Hearty Rise (Josef and Tobi F.), while Fredrik and Christoph of Nays sit a little further back. How will the field handle the next day out on the water?
